Hebrews 11:6

"But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him."

I don’t know about you, but for me it is easy to often view God in human terms. We think of God as a friend, and He is, but so much more than that as well. If we are not careful we can put God in a box, and forget that He is God. He is ALL powerful, and ALL knowing, and ALL loving. God is so much greater than I think we often think, unless we really stop and contemplate it.

What this verse speaks to me is that we need to have faith that God is who He really is, not who we in our limited imaginations have construed Him to be. When you pray to God do you really believe that He can answer your prayers? Do you really believe that He is bigger than your problems? Or are your prayers more like cosmic wishes that you send up into the universe and hope somehow something changes a little more in your favor? It can be easy to think that there are no miracles anymore if you are not looking for them. But if you pay attention I think you would be surprised in your own life in the lives of others around you how you can see God at work. The problem may be it’s not how we would want it to work out.

The fact of the matter is God IS bigger than your problems and He CAN deliver you from what you are going through, but He may not. We are called to have faith that God is who He says He is and to diligently seek Him. But believing God is God, means He knows better than us and part of that faith, maybe the hardest part, is being content with His will, despite our desires. We are called to suffer for Christ and in doing so we will be a witness. Your faith during the hardest trials is an amazing witness to those who don’t know Christ and a great encouragement to those who do.

So keep the faith, believe in God, that He is big enough to rescue you from all things, and ultimately trust that His will is best regardless of what you want. To put it simply, run the race, keep the faith, for your reward awaits you in Heaven!
