You may think that sports are all fun and games…and indeed they are. But sports can also be a great way for people to gather together in community and for people to discover what it means to have a relationship with Jesus. In other words, sports can be more than a game. At Campus, we are continuing to build a sports ministry that allows people to have fun competing, while remembering the most important game is the one we call Life. Sports is also a great way to introduce friends to Campus and ultimately to Jesus.
Upward Basketball & Cheerleading
Upward is one of the most exciting evangelistic sports ministries in the country. Designed to promote community outreach and to develop volunteer leaders, Upward uses something as simple as the game of basketball & sport of cheerleading to reach children and their families for Christ. Specifically designed for K-6th grade boys and girls, Upward Basketball & Cheerleading seeks to develop the self-esteem of each participant, while teaching respect for authority, sportsmanship, character, and basketball/cheerleading skills.
Since 1985 Campus has held an annual bike trip to the Monterey Coast. Hundreds of families over the years have participated and many have made it an annual tradition. Campus Coastal Challenge is a wonderful weekend of camping and biking in a beautiful setting. On Friday, groups heads to the coast. On Saturday, you’ll ride approximately 20 miles at your own pace on a bike trail overlooking the ocean to Fisherman’s Wharf, through Cannery Row and along the coast. Sunday is for your own enjoyment.
Join us on the next Campus Coastal Challenge Bike Trip to Monterey Peninsula. This is our annual signature bike trip.
Over the past few years Campus has participated in the Bethany Church Softball League, with games being held at Bethany Church. Leagues run from the end of April through beginning of August.
