DAY 3: Stories From The Sidewalk

Today volunteers in 567 cities are showing up to pray in front of abortion facilities around the globe.  These courageous volunteers have been described as “the last sign of hope for the mother and baby when they arrive, and the first sign of mercy to the women as they leave.”

Don’t underestimate the impact these prayers are having!  Recently 40 Days for Life announced a new milestone…
18,000 babies have been saved from abortion – and counting!

The abortion industry’s own internal data reveals that when people show up to pray in front of a clinic, the no-show rate for abortion appointments can go as high as 75%.

It’s also important to recognize that 40 Days For Life is a peaceful prayer vigil, not a demonstration or protest.  Volunteers don’t have to hold a sign, and they’re not expected to say anything.  (Most locations have “Sidewalk Counselors” who are trained to interact with people entering the abortion facility.)

But when God’s people show up and pray, their presence awakens the conscience of the community… and God saves lives.

If you – or someone you know – would like to sign up to pray in front of Planned Parenthood in downtown Fresno, click here.
Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, "Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?" Then I said, "Here am I. Send me!" (Isaiah 6:8)
Suggested things to pray for:
  • Pray for the volunteers who sign up to pray in front of abortion clinics – for their protection, boldness, encouragement, and divine appointments.
  • Pray that God would raise up many more prayer volunteers in the next 40 days.
