Proverbs 19:21

Many plans are in a man’s heart, but the counsel of the Lord will stand.

Even if you are not a list person and like to be completely spontaneous (I can’t even imagine such a life!), I still think it is important for all of us to prayerfully and carefully outline and prioritize our daily tasks. Now, thanks to electronic applications, we have elaborate systems in which we able to do this easily.

However, the following are things that should always be a priority on our “To Do List” for today:

• Spend at least thirty minutes in prayer, praise and reflection from our personal Bible reading.

• Listen to our favorite sacred music. Recite or sing the words of one of our favorite hymns or spiritual songs.

• Tell at least one person “I love you” and “I’m proud of you” and “I appreciate you.”

• Exercise for at least 15-30 minutes (e.g. Walk at least 5,000 to 10,000 steps).

• Eat well. Keep a record.

• Tell one person about Christ.

• Send a word of encouragement to at least three people.

• Greet at least one neighbor and help, where needed.

• Take fifteen minutes for complete silence or take a nap.

• Do at least one project we would rather not do.

• Do at least one thing on our “Get Ahead” (Future Project) List.

From here we move on to the rest of our list.
