Philippians 3:13-14 – "Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize. For which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."  (NIV)

This has been on my heart so much. I read these verses sometime in the past weeks and I was inspired again by the words “press on.” It’s been a busy time with getting ready for choir to start, and beginning preparations for the Easter Walk Through… along with things I needed to take care of at home. And I felt the Lord letting me know that I needed to "press on…toward the goal to win the prize.” And reminding me the important thing is “People, Not Task.” They are the true prize!

Last week I had a dream about Hanna York, our dear friend who the Lord recently received into His heaven. I had never dreamt about her before, at least not that I remember. It was her birthday the day before so she had been in my thoughts. In my dream she said over and over to me, “Press on Laurel, don’t grow weary.” I loved that! Hanna was teaching and inspiring me even now.

Maybe you need these encouraging words right now …Don’t grow weary, press on toward the goal and (talking more to myself because I get caught up in the work) keep your eye on “People, Not Task.”
PSALM 23  A Palm of Hope
The Lord is my Shepherd
And I shall not want
I shall not want I shall not want
The Lord is my Shepherd
And I shall not want
How could I ask for more

He leads by still water
And I shall not want
I shall not want I shall not want
He leads by still water
And I shall not want I
I shall not want for more
How could I ask for more

He is enough for ev’ry need
He is enough for ev’ry broken dream
And I shall not want

He leads through the valley
And I shall not want
He leads through the valley
And I shall not want
And I shall not want

He is enough for ev’ry need
He is enough for ev’ry broken dream
The Lord is my Shepherd
I shall not want

I’m satisfied with what He gives
He will provide and faithfully supply
The Lord is my Shepherd
I shall not want

He is the Night He is the Day
He is the Sun He is the Shade
He is the Ocean He’s the Stream
And if we wander off alone
His mercy calls us back to home
His mercy calls us back to home
Men and Women: To Home
I feast at His table and I shall not want
I shall not want I shall not want
I feast at His table and I shall not want
I shall not want for more
He is the Strength to conquer sin
I shall not want for more
He’s faithful when my trust is thin
I shall not want
