Daily Devotional

“For if I am an offender; or have committed anything deserving of death, I do not object to dying; but if there is nothing in these things of which these men accuse me, no one can deliver me to them. I appeal to Caesar.” Acts 25: 11

The passages leading up to this point include several times when Paul alludes to knowing that the Lord was leading him to Rome; but, I wonder if he ever had second thoughts after he had made this appeal. No one could really bring any accusations against him that could be proven, several high officials admitted that if he hadn’t appealed to Caesar they would release him. I wonder if he ever just cried out, “Why did I say that?” But it was his confidence that the Lord had told him where He should go that had to assure him he had done the right thing. It’s so important to listen and know the Lord’s voice so that in times of doubt we can take ourselves back to the place He spoke to us and by doing so we can regain His peace and confidence that comes with obeying His Word.

Trust And Obey
Mike Weaver

Verse 1
When we walk with the Lord
In the light of His Word
What a glory He sheds on our way
While we do His good will
He abides with us still
And with all who will trust and obey

Chorus
Trust and obey
For there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus
But to trust and obey
