Habakkuk 2:19-20

“Woe to him who says to wood, ‘Awake!’
To silent stone, ‘Arise! It shall teach!’ Behold, it is overlaid with gold and silver, Yet in it there is no breath at all. But the LORD is in His holy temple, Let all the earth keep silence before Him.”

I can’t imagine going through life without the Lord. It saddens me to know that so many are putting their faith in things they create and or what they can buy, It can only provide momentary satisfaction because there’s no breath, there’s no life in them.

God’s breath is what creates life! His Word, Jesus, is what breathes life into us each day to live the life He desires us to live. It’s also His breath that helps us continue living that life when things are tough and hard.

I have had such precious times of silence with the Lord recently. But they are precious and life giving because He is there and I am silent before Him, not a stone, not something I pay for, but before Him. He makes, conforms, and transforms my LIFE.
