DAY 25: Window to the Womb

For almost three decades, ultrasound technology has provided parents with a miraculous window to the womb. This common diagnostic technique uses harmless sound waves, sent by a hand-held transducer rubbed over the mother's belly, which bounce off the developing unborn child. Echoes from the waves are converted into sonograms, which can be seen on video and captured in print.

The latest advances produce amazing three-dimensional views.

When women are considering abortion and they receive an ultrasound examination, what they witness on the screen not only affirms life, in many cases it saves life!

One woman who had been beaten early in her pregnancy received an ultrasound to see if her child had been injured in the womb. When she saw the image of her baby moving on the screen, she said: “I feel that it is human. It belongs to me. I couldn't have an abortion now.”

Another woman, 10 weeks pregnant, said after her ultrasound exam: “I am going all the way with the baby.”

This “window into the womb” is so helpful in saving babies that 6 out of 10 Pregnancy Care Centers now offer free ultrasound exams.  And many of these centers report that 80% of abortion-minded mothers choose life after seeing their unborn child on ultrasound.

Job 12:9-10 – “Who among all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this, in His hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind.”

Suggested things to pray for:
  • Thank God for the marvelous technology of ultrasound!  Pray that many women seeking abortion would get an ultrasound exam and keep their baby.
