Daily Devotional

As I reflect on these verses my mind rushes to a special memory of a dear old friend, John Fischer, singing a song he wrote when we were both starting in the ministry. It is called the All Day Song. Perhaps you remember the words:
 
Love Him in the morning,
When you see the sun arising.
Love Him in the evening,
'Cause He took you through the day.
And in the in-between time,
When you feel the pressure coming,
Remember that He loves you,
And He promises to stay.
 
I want to propose an idea. For one week set an alarm of some sort for seven times a day (e.g. 8 a.m., 10 a.m., 12 noon, 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m., and 8 p.m.) When the alarm goes off take at least one minute to praise God for who He is and what He has done. Recite a verse or sing a hymn or praise song. May each minute reflect a heart of worship that declares, “You are on my mind all day, Lord—in the morning, in the evening, and in the in-between time.”
