"The word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword." Hebrews 4:12

I spent some time, in a special way, in that word some days back.  A more focused time than my normal morning meeting with the Lord.  I was out in an orchard, and I was alone.  I read Zechariah 6, as directed by the Lord.  In it, the Lord impressed on my heart three things which I want to share with you today.  Some from what Zechariah did.  Some from others in the picture.

Now I lifted up my eyes again and looked, and behold, four chariots were coming forth from between the two mountains; and the mountains were bronze mountains (Zechariah 6:1).

  • Zechariah lifted up his eyes, and looked, again!  We start with God any given day by lifting our eyes, again, and looking, to Him.  I will lift up my eyes to the mountains; from where shall my help come?  My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth (Psalm 121:1).  We can see in the Spirit what we cannot see in the flesh.  Zechariah saw four chariots, and mountains of bronze.  Our world is blinding and deafening.  But we can look away from it, and look up, again, at Him.

Then I spoke and said to the angel who was speaking with me, “What are these, my lord?”  The angel replied to me, “These are the four spirits of heaven, going forth after standing before the Lord of all the earth. (Zechariah 6:4-5)

  • Opportunity is given to each of us in Christ to stand before the LORD of all the earth.  We meet with Him, and wait on Him, until we know we are in the presence of the “LORD of all the earth.”  We stand before Him until we are done, until He is done.  Then from that place we can go forth, out into our life in the world.

“When the strong ones went out, they were eager to go to patrol the earth.” And He said, “Go, patrol the earth.” So they patrolled the earth.  Then He cried out to me and spoke to me saying, “See, those who are going to the land of the north have appeased My wrath in the land of the north.”  (Zechariah 6:7-8)

  • The Lord will confirm our way, “Go, patrol the earth.”  In that place of standing before the LORD of all the earth, we can be made eager to go out, to our “earth patrol” work.  In that eagerness and energy, we do the very thing which He has sent us to do.  When we do, we “appease” the Lord in that work (or cause His Spirit to rest in regard to it).

All of us in Christ have been called to partner with Him, day by day.
  • We lift up our eyes, again, and LOOK.
  • We STAND in the presence of the Lord of all the earth, and wait.
  • We GO eagerly to our earthly labors, as He releases us to do so.
