"Are You Repping Well?"

"All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." 2 Corinthians 5:18-21

Have you ever seen some of those crazed fans in the crowd at a sporting event? Some of them are in costumes, some have their faces painted, and some even appear to be from another planet. No matter what, it's just painfully obvious who they represent and what they stand for. When it comes to our identity, it also should be obvious who we represent and who we stand for because we are called to be ambassadors of Jesus Christ. The question is, "Are we representing Him well?" Truth be told some people's view of Jesus may largely be dictated by how they view you. So we must also ask ourselves, "Are people being drawn toward Jesus or being pushed away from Him when they look at our lives?"

God uses us to reach others and our lives are to be lived as if He is making His appeal through us. We speak on His behalf pleading for others to come back to God. Our role as ambassadors is to represent Jesus well with how we live and to bring others into a relationship with Him. Because Jesus reconciled the world to Himself in death and resurrection, freedom and life are available for everyone who believes in Him. May we never forget that God allows us to partner with Him as His ambassadors to accomplish His will and to share this good news with all those around us.
