Revelation 6

"Come and see"

These 3 words, "Come and see," have such opposing emotions behind them…
"Come and see what the Lord has done, His awesome deeds for mankind." Psalm 66:5
Such joy that exudes from that exclamation of the wonder of the Lord. Reminds me of His birth heralded by the angels in Luke 2 or His resurrection heralded by the angel at the tomb in Matthew 28.

But then...
"Come and see what the Lord has done, the desolations he has brought on the earth." Psalm 46:8

It is this sadness that came upon me when I read Revelation 6 as John describes Jesus opening the  seals. The first 4 seals were prefaced with, "Come and see." Each one foretells how the Lord will conquer the earth with destruction.  I so look forward to that day, but then I think of all those who still need to humble themselves and follow Him and that emotion of sadness is overbearing.

Oh let all who don't know Him...Come and see!

Jesus Is Coming Again   John Peterson

Marvelous message we bring,
Glorious carol we sing,
Wonderful word of the King,
Jesus is coming again!
Coming again, Coming again,
May be morning, may be noon,
May be evening and may be soon!
Coming again, Coming again;
O what a wonderful day it will be -Jesus is coming again!

Come And See Chase Buchanan, Carly Dye, Lydia Morris
Oh come and see the One who has spoken
All you broken and hopeless
Come find rest in His grace
That He lavished on, lavished on us
Come and see what He has done
By the power of His love
That He lavished on, lavished on us
By His wounds we’ve overcome
By the power of His love
That He lavished on, lavished on us
That He lavished on, lavished on us
For the cross has spoken
Redemption over us
Oh the blood of Jesus
Will always be enough
For the grave was opened
And death is overrun
Praise the Lamb
Look at what He has done
