As I was preparing for our Sunday Night Live Hymn Sing-Finding the Treasure the Lord reminded me of these faithful promises.

Deuteronomy 20:29
The secret things belong to the Lord, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of the law.

Jeremiah 29:13
And you will seek me and find me when you search for me with all your heart.

Proverbs 2:4
My son, if you receive my words, and treasure my commands within you, so that you incline your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding, yes, if you cry out for discernment and lift up your voice for understanding, if you seek her as silver and search for her as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.

That same morning I was crying out to the Lord for discernment. I just was feeling kind of out of sorts, that something wasn't quite right between us. And He revealed to me that I had had a critical spirit. Sometimes the secret things the Lord reveals to us are not fuzzy, feel good truths, but His exhortation, coupled with our confession, will always bring us into a right relationship with Him, knowing we are loved. And that relationship is the real treasure.
