1 Peter 1:3
His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness.
Friends, what would you say is one of the clear distinguishing differences between saints and sinners, beyond being magnificently pardoned? It is that we get to live with a distinct Divine purpose. Being cleansed, affected and transformed by the Infinite One who transcends in us every category (Isaiah 55:9), and thus has the capacity to make us exponentially better and more equipped for divine mission, then we ever could on our own.
When so many float through life from one temporary pleasure to the next, eyes inward, and hoping to be satisfied and loved by others, we get to live in the truth that we are already DEEPLY LOVED and have been invited to the highest and most noble purposes: to walk with God and spread His Kingdom across any region where darkness reigns and sinners are captive.
Oh church family, how I implore you to join me in this wonderful Kingdom adventure! It’s not merely human optimism, it’s the twinkle in our eye that comes after seeing Jesus’ fingerprints so many times before, even in the darkest of nights. And so with a youthful giddiness we can begin our day with praying, “Jesus, so what do you have planned for today?! What hurting confused soul do I get to run into that has no clue of your mercy? What blind eyes get to open and how will I be included even in the smallest part? Or what wondering saint do I get to bump into that has forgotten Your promises of Your nearness?”
Maybe these Kingdom invitations are as close as a family member, or a life you’ve never met before today. This is the honor of being carriers of God’s Shalom, and no one can ever take that from us. We’re the ones with buckets of water for a thirsty generation, because our Father owns every spring! Today, right now…this is our moment!
