Goodness of God
[Bethel Arrangment ] by Ed Cash and Jenn Johnson
Verse 1
I love You Lord
Oh Your mercy never fails me
All my days I've been held in Your hands
From the moment that I wake up
Until I lay my head I will sing of the goodness of God
Chorus 1
All my life You have been faithful
All my life You have been so so good
With every breath that I am able
I will sing of the goodness of God
Verse 2
I love Your voice
You have led me through the fire
In darkest night You are close like no other I've known
You as a father I've known
You as a friend I have lived in the goodness of God
Bridge
Your goodness is running after
It’s running after me
Your goodness is running after
It’s running after me
With my life laid down
I’m surrendered now I give You everything
Your goodness is running after
It's running after me

10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord)
[Matt Redman (10,000 Reasons)] by Jonas Myrin and Matt Redman
Chorus 1
Bless the Lord O my soul
O my soul
Worship His holy name
Sing like never before
O my soul
I'll worship Your holy name
Verse 1
The sun comes up it's a new day dawning
It's time to sing Your song again
Whatever may pass and whatever lies before me
Let me be singing when the evening comes
Verse 2
You're rich in love and You're slow to anger
Your name is great and Your heart is kind
For all Your goodness I will keep on singing
Ten thousand reasons for my heart to find
Verse 3
And on that day when my strength is failing
The end draws near and my time has come
Still my soul will sing Your praise unending
Ten thousand years and then forevermore
Ending
Worship Your holy name
Lord I'll worship Your holy name
Sing like never before
O my soul
I'll worship Your holy name
Worship Your holy name

Kindness
Chris Tomlin, Jesse Reeves, and Louie Giglio
Verse 1
Open up the skies of mercy
And rain down the cleansing flood
Healing waters rise around us
And hear our cries Lord let 'em rise
Chorus 1
And it's Your kindness Lord
That leads us to repentance
Your favor Lord is our desire
And it's Your beauty Lord
That makes us stand in silence
And Your love
Your love is better than life
Verse 2
We can feel Your mercy falling
You are turning our hearts back again
Hear our praises rise to heaven
And draw us near Lord meet us here

From the Inside Out
Joel Houston
Verse 1
A thousand times I've failed
Still Your mercy remains
And should I stumble again
Still I'm caught in Your grace
Everlasting
Your light will shine when all else fades
Never-ending
Your glory goes beyond all fame
Verse 2
Your will above all else
My purpose remains
The art of losing myself
In bringing You praise
Everlasting
Your light will shine when all else fades
Never-ending
Your glory goes beyond all fame
Chorus 1
In my heart in my soul
Lord I give You control
Consume me from the inside out Lord
Let justice and praise
Become my embrace
To love You from the inside out
Chorus 2
Everlasting
Your light will shine when all else fades
Never-ending
Your glory goes beyond all fame
And the cry of my heart
Is to bring You praise
From the inside out
Lord my soul cries out (Lord)

Sermon Notes
“Conformed or Transformed?”
Romans 12:2
Romans 12: Devoted to Service
Pastor Kenton Rahn
Romans 12:2 – “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.”
Pressure to Be Conformed
Greek: syschēmat.zō - to form something according to a pattern or mold.
J.B. Phillip’s paraphrases: “Don’t let the world around you squeeze you into its own mold.”
World – (Greek: aiṓn) – an age or period of time. The present age we are living in… in contrast to the age to come.
• The present age is “evil” (Gal 1:4)
• Satan is the “god” of this age (2 Cor 4:4)
• The wisdom of this age is foolish and passing away (1 Cor 2:6)
• Demas loved the present age and fell away from the faith (2 Tim 4:10)
Power to Be Transformed
1. Transformation is a qualitative change.
Greek: metamorphoō – literally “to change into another form.”
Paul connects transformation with “renewal” (anakainōsis). It means to cause something to become new and different, with the implication of becoming better.
2. Transformation is a continual process.
The verb is a present tense command – “keep on being transformed.” (Cf. 2Cor 3:18; 2Cor 4:16)
3. Transformation begins in the mind.
Greek: nous – the mind is the command control center for our thoughts, attitudes, feelings and actions.
Transformation begins in the mind. But it doesn’t stop there.
4. Transformation results in knowing the will of God.
Only a renewed mind can test and approve (discern, appreciate, determine to obey) God’s will.
5. Transformation occurs primarily through the word of God.
It saves us (Jas 1:21)
It sanctifies us (Jn 17:17)
It feeds and nourishes us (Mt 4:4; 1 Pet 2:2)
It guides and directs us (Ps 119:105)
It teaches, corrects, and trains us in righteousness (2 Tim 3:16)
It exposes the thoughts and motives of our heart (Heb 4:12)
It gives us light and understanding (Ps 119:130)
It keeps us pure (Ps 119:9)
It sets us free (Jn 8:31-32)
It builds up our faith (Rom 10:17)
It helps us resist sin (Ps 119:11)
It equips us for every good work (2 Tim 3:17)

Discussion Questions and Action Items:
1. What does it mean to be “conformed to this world?”
2. What are some ways Christians are tempted to conform to the world?
3. What do you do on a daily basis to renew your mind? Why is it so important to renew your mind daily?
4. Why is the word of God the single greatest means of renewing our minds and transforming our lives?
5. What is your main take-away from the message this week?
